The Vickers Hardness Tester was developed to measure the hardness of materials by observing their ability to resist deformation using a diamond indenter. The test can be used for all metals and has one of the widest scales among hardness tests.

 

Main Application/Advantages

The hardness tester is used in most laboratories for the testing of metal specimens and the hardness distribution of hardened and carburized surfaces.

 

The advantages of the test include:

  • Constant hardness value for homogeneous materials regardless of the size of load applied

  • It is suitable for testing small parts, thin plates, metal foils, electroplated layers, and non-metallic materials such as glass

  • It can be used for extremely soft and hard materials

  • The test is accurate and reliable

The roughness tester is a machine capable of measuring surface roughness, carrying out 3D analysis of surfaces and measuring fine contours.

Main Application/Advantages


The main applications of the roughness tester are to compare the roughness on bonding pads, and evaluate step, pitch, area calculation and dimensional measurements (angles, radii and distance). For example, it can be used for PCB sample roughness testing.
